Semiotics is firmly anchored in the curriculum of many universities: it is the standard approach for the analysis of semiotic processes. One can often find semiotic subject material being studied in university courses but under other names. The DGS strives above all to give students of semiotics an orientation for recognizing where and how semiotic content can be found and investigated. For professionals working in the field of semiotics, it strives to enhance networking possibilities and to keep them up to date with developments in the field.
